It has been said that a foolish man lives to work, and a wise man works to live, but for what purpose does the wise man live? Living is not an end in and of itself. There has to be a purpose for which man lives.

Have you ever wondered what the purpose of your life is?

Do you ever lie awake at night wondering what this is all for?

Do you ever lay awake wondering what this is all for???

If the above is true, and you believe you’re a Muslim, consider the words of your lord,

"And I [God] did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me" (Al Quran 51:56)

Great news, you just got your answer!

We know you are a great character. Some of you may be regular in giving charity, others working hard to earn an honest living, or perhaps you are an active volunteer in your local community. There is no escaping the fact however that prayer is the first act that we will be questioned about on the day of judgement. Even for many who do pray, it often comes as an afterthought which we squeeze into our day without understanding the reality of the One who we are communicating with. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The first matter that the slave will be brought to account for on the Day of Judgement is the prayer. If it is sound, then the rest of his deeds will be sound. If it is bad, then the rest of his deeds will be bad." [Tabarani]

To do good deeds alone then, no matter how plentiful, will not be enough to make the grade. The five daily prayers are the bread and butter for each and every Muslim. Picture this: When the dwellers of Paradise ask those who have entered Hell-fire, what brought them to it, they will say: 'We were not of those who prayed.' (Qur'an, 74:42-43)

It is a harrowing thought but at the same time, knowledge is power. Remember that Allah does not want us to fail this test, and wants us to prepare well. If we fix our prayers then we can make the rest of our good deeds count. With focus and resolve we can take control and map our futures very differently insha'Allah. Make the grade and make it count!

Now establishing the prayer is very simple, however if it has been some time since you have prayed, worry not, help is at hand.

The first thing we have to remember is that, we can pray pretty much anywhere, as our Prophet, Upon Whom Be Peace Said; "The whole earth has been made for me a pure and clean mosque" (Bukhari)

With this great freedom to pray at home, work, football, Uni etc, what this means is we only have to be concerned about two things; firstly our state, i.e. our purity, and secondly the time, and both are covered in the; 'JGDI Prayer Guide' accessed via the box below, just click 'open'.

Now, you may have lots and lots of questions that you want answering, and therefore we have generated a FAQ page for you. But what is more, we have managed to get together lots of people to help you learn the basics of prayer.

About us

Just Go Do It is a campaign that has been brought together by Mercy Mission; a movement at the heart of which is the emergence of a world where every Muslim is able to live faithfully to their belief, building an exemplary Islamic society that benefits humanity.

Helping people help others is a core driver of the Mercy Mission movement, and this campaign has emerged through a significant investment by the movement and support from its partners. The collaborative that emerged to deliver this campaign, was brought together on the recognition and affirmation of the words of Allah Jala Wa 'Ala:

"Co-operate in good and piety and do not co-operate in sin and transgression." [Al Quran, 5:2]

Our main partner, Pure Matrimony, deliver a halal alternative to matrimonial support services tailored specifically for practising Muslims, and recognises that a family that prays together stays together.

The journey to righteousness starts with the prayer. Together we form a union of Muslims seeking to reach out to those of our brothers and sisters, who have forgotten their obligation to their Lord, who created them from nothing.

Support us

Now, we hope you got to this website from one of the many ways in which we tried to reach you, as this campaign was coordinated across several organisations:

Now we can tell you this, good planning requires resources and the Just Go Do It campaign took a lot of time, effort and money to get this off the ground. So why did we do it? As you are here, and that is what counts, as the people at L'Oreal say, 'Because You're Worth It!'

The supporters and donors of Mercy Mission love the words of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala:

"Those who establish SALAH and SPEND (benevolently) out of what We have given them. Such in truth are the believers: they have grades of dignity with their Lord, and forgiveness, and generous sustenance." [Al Quran, 8:3-4]

Their attachment to the book of Allah is such that it led them to finance our projects. However, Just Go Do It is your opportunity to support us and secure your ranking as someone whose forgiveness and generous sustenance is guaranteed by Allah. Donate here.

Our Partners

There are certain organisations we would like to specifically thank for their support for this campaign. They were people who genuinely felt the words of Allah Subhana:

"By no means shall ye attain righteousness unless you give (freely) of that which you love; and whatever you give, of a truth Allah knows it well." [Al Quran, 3:92].

They don't just follow Islam, they are living it, and have given from their time, wealth and opportunity to accrue riches beyond measure.

special thanks

Aside from these, our premier partners, we would also like to express gratitude to those others who also helped, notably:

University College London ISOC, Kingston ISOC, Kings College London ISOC, Bradford ISOC, Birmingham ISOC, Manchester Metropolitan University ISOC, Nottingham ISOC, Wolverhampton ISOC, National Zakat Foundation, Productive Muslim, The Muslim Post, and Websquare Web Design.

You

If you got this far with reading through all our material, we would like to genuinely thank you. As Allah is our witness, our whole motivation for this website was to make people think and consider the weight of the prayer in Islam and why it is the that Messenger of Allah, 'alayhi wa-salatu wa-salam said: "Verily, between a man and Shirk and Kufr is the abandonment of the Prayer." [Muslim]

Therefore the fact you have come this far with us, makes us very happy, and you should be too! if you are from those, or let us rephrase, were from those that did not pray, and have now come to realise that you must, we ask Allah to make your journey to establishing the prayer easy. Ameen.

The issue of the prayer is critical in the life of a Muslim, and we are glad more people have started to take steps to make it the habit of a lifetime. So a big thank you to you all. We hope you can take advantage of this site, and call other people you know who don't pray to benefit and Just Go Do It!
